#10 Screenprint-shape

Cricketpress
Sara and Brian Turner

Sara and Brian Turner have an etsy store where they sell their own, hand screen printed designs. They both come from backgrounds in art and are doing what they love to do.

They use big bold shapes of color which is one of the reasons why I like them. They are very cutesy. I could easily wear this on a shirt or/and hang it up on my wall. Not sure if they sell these as shirts but they do have shirts for sale.

#9 Collagraph-Color

I picked another Jet James print because I really like is prints, and I thought this print did a wonderful job at color. There are so many colors in this collagraph and they look very organized. I like that.
Once again he uses some plants and a sandpaper like texture. As for the rest, im not sure, and I like that. It keeps me thinking.

#8 Collagraph - Texture

Green Beauty
Jet James
Collagraph
22.5cm by 42cm
(figure the conversions out yourself)

Jet James has a whole tragic life story on his deviant art art page, which you can view by clicking on this link here. James lives in Australia and has had a big interest in and been filling his life with art for most of his life. His favorite being printmaking.
This print really shows the use of texture by the plants and splashes all across the print. More texture can be seen at the top with the almost sandpaper like look and the lines of the hair. It looks like this artist has a good idea of the items used and how they will look once printed. . . I'm jelly.
I was immediately drawn to this piece because. . . well . . . it actually looked like something. Most of the collagraphs I found looked like something anyone could make. They looked easy, like the artists just threw stuff on a board, slapped some ink on it and printed it. I wanted something more thought out. This strikes me as thought out. The plants turned out really clear and has inspired me for my own project.
